Recording Artist Bill Curreri Live at VYNL in New York City Concert Review by Greg Holt

I spent an enjoyable evening at The VYNL in the East Village, NYC listening to recording artist, Bill Curreri and his 7-piece backup band play original Rock Americana!  Bill Curreri is an accomplished singer-songwriter whose sound is classic, big-room Rock with great vocal harmonies, lush B3 layering, fantastic lead guitar solos, and a solid rhythm section.

Bill’s set included songs from his first two CDs, “Long Time Gone” and “Son Of An American Dream”… with a few new songs thrown in from his new album scheduled to be released in early 2020.  Bill’s influences are varied: from the Allman Brothers-style, “When I Was A King”, to the Rolling Stones-like “Fade Away”, from the Cars-inspired “To See You Again” and to the Phil Spector/R&B-style “Hard Road Home”.  There was even a beautiful rock ballad dedicated to his fiancé, Lydia titled“With Lydia”.  Bill has a solid foundation in Rock Americana songwriting.  So it’s no wonder that several of his songs to date have charted on both Adult Contemporary and Top40 commercial radio!

Bill’s back up band was also fantastic! I heard stunning backing vocals by Erin Palma and Maura Glynn, especially on “Son of An American Dream”, fantastic lead guitar riffs by Michael D’ Andrilli, prominent on “When I Was A King” and the solid Stones-style bass on “Fade Away” by Arthur Sadowsky.  And I especially liked the lush B3 work by Dylan DeFeo and the solid drumming all night by Chris DeRosa.  And I was moved to see Bill’s long-time band mate, Joe DiNorcia (who has played with Bill since college) laying down solid rhythm guitar and keeping the fun alive!

Bill Curreri is an inspired singer-songwriter and recording artist who’s backed up on stage by a solid group of accomplished musicians.  And I look forward to hearing more great songs and performances from Bill in the future.
